R720XD iDrac 7 SWC0700

Hi,

I have a Dell R720XD where the iDrac 7 isn't responding. I am getting the error SWC0700. I placed the firmimg.d7 on an SD Card formatted as FAT, and powered on the server.

Before, the idrac light would flash amber and go through the post where it says idrac failed, then Lifecycle would be disabled. Then I place the sd card and power cycled the server. During the power on, the idrac light stopped flashing. When I plug in an ethernet cable, it looks like it is connected. However, I still get errors during boot.

Is there any way to force flash from Windows the idrac firmware? I really don't want to replace the motherboard.

Recovery iDRAC using SD card and firmimg.d7 will work if there are issues like firmware corruption. This method might not work of there are hardware failure. If iDRAC is failed there is no option to recover it from Windows operating system. Sorry I can't be of more help. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Before I placed the SD Card with firmimg.d7, the LED would be flashing amber.

When the system rebooted with the SD Card installed, the LCD went dead (No light). However, when I connect an ethernet cable, the lights are working on the idrac port.

What firmware do I need to put on the SD Card? I put the latest version. not sure that is the correct one to use.
