Which power cable for R230 for SATA and Optical Drive?

Hello

I have an R230 server which came with an H330 Raid card and 2 cabled drives.

I want to add Drive 3 and 4. For the PERC I can get a cable that will split additional drives. However, for SATA power cables I cannot find any that would fit. I am ideally looking for the Dell 6 PIN Power adapter to 4 SATA + 1 Optical drive - that way I can just run a SAS3 to 4-SATA fan cable and all will be set.

Can someone point me to a DELL 6 PIN (on motherboard) to  4 SATA+ Optical Power cable?

Thanks!

Edit - I found this https://www.ebay.com/itm/350577825486 on ebay, but that would need multiple adapters

I also found this https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-2-Pack-SATA-Power/dp/B01DV1Z1ZI - which may work - but dont know if the Dell connector is propietary

Chirag11,

To me it sounds like you have the X2 HDD/ODD cable installed, you would need to replace that X2 cable for the X4 HDD/ODD cable (part N9P7R) as seen below.  ViewPic.jpg

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

I also have a second R230 server that does not have a RAID card.

For that one, I want to use the onboard SAS connector - but need a  power cable for the drives and ODD.

Can you give me part number for that one? Should have 4 SATA and 1 Optical drive power

The cable listed would be from the perc or from the motherboard to the drives.

I'm looking to do the same to my R230 (upgrade from (2) HDD's to (4) HDD's)

I found (3) Dell part numbers:
M7MXD
D2M62
T3D32

These have a straight SAS plug connection (the N9P7R has a 90 degree SAS plug) like my original (2) HDD cable (DP/N: TTN3V)
