Question about RP installation with Gen6 RPAs and 10GE cards..

Hi there,

since I haven't found any other Information regarding the usage of 10GE Cards, I assume the following:

- eth0/WAN and eth1/LAN will move to 10GE cards if plugged/active during RPA reboot

- only 2 of 4 available ports of the 10GE Card are used in production (LAN/WAN)

- there is nothing like IP trunking/bonding availalble that can be activated to use more ports

Are my assumtions valid?

Thanks,

Thomas

Hi Idan,

thanks a lot for your quick answer.

One additional question since I haven't seen a 10GE card at all and the customer ist far, far away:

Are all ports on these cards equal or do we have to use specific ports for WAN and LAN?

Cheers,

Thomas

PS: I should better take care.;-)   ...only the first 2 ports are used...

Hi Thomas,

That is correct, 10Gb would be used for LAN and/or WAN if there's a discovered link during boot. only the first 2 ports are used for WAN and LAN respectively. Other ports cannot be used so bonding and trunking isn't currently possible.

Hope that helps,
