RecoverPoint multi site configuration

Hello,

It is possible to connect three RPA clusters on three different sites?, as the following image shows:RPAs.JPG.jpg

All RPAs clusters are running version 4.0

We want to replicate LUNs on the following way:

SITE A -> SITE B

SITE A -> SITE C

SITE B -> SITE A

SITE B -> SITE C

SITE C -> SITE A

SITE C -> SITE B

Anybody has implemented a similar configuration?

If this is not possible, another option could be the following:

RPAs.JPG.jpg

SITE A -> SITE B

SITE A -> SITE C

SITE B -> SITE A

SITE C -> SITE A

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you!

Hi Jorge,

Perfectly acceptable configuration from an inter RP cluster and CG replication perspective. As long as there is a replication pathway (IP or FC) between each of the RP clusters, effectively forming a fully meshed RP system, then the CG relationships that you have highlighted can be created.

Richard

Hi,

would be great to understand if you realized the relationship with different CGs or with multiple Repl-Set into same CG.

I'm looking some info to deploy a Y topology:

A to B

A to C

What I'm not able to find-out is how to design CG/Repl-Sets in order to failover, in case of DR, on a specific site (B or C) depending on my needs to protecte same production volumes.

What is the best option to have it done?

  1. Different CGs
  2. Different Repl-Set into same CG

If 2, can I specify how to failover on a specific volume instead of the other one with SRM as Orchestrator?

Any help will be appreciated

Thank you

AndMar

Multi-copy is common place. They key aspect of the relationship is to remember that the source volume(s) can only reside in a single CG.

Rich
