repository Volume move

Hello ,

I have Recover point 4.1 connected to a Vmax/vnx and Xio.

currently we are migrating of VMAX to XIO and the repository Volume for RP is on VMAX which needs to be moved to XIO.

We have only 1 Site for now.(With no WAN interface connected).

Can some one help me point to right Document ? or steps I can follow as this is in production. I don't have a test and fail option.

EMC support hasn't been much help for this unfortunately.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, firstly upgrade you RP version to latest version of 4.4 which is 4.4 SP1 P1 and follow the instructions as per Procedure B2 in the following KB, https://support.emc.com/kb/303715.

Does the cluster id changes after repository volume migration ?

Do we need new licenses after migrating the repository volume from one storage array to another storage array as RPA licenses are generated initially with storage array serial#.

The cluster ID won't change if following the repository migration procedure (B or B2) and license won't change as it can be tied to the cluster ID (in RP/CL) or the array ID (EX/SE).

Can you attach a copy of this kb article to this chat? Using the link you supplied it says I am not authorized to view this content and doing a search on emc support for it only brings up this forum discussion.

When I try to access The KB https://support.emc.com/kb/303715 I get a "You are Not Authorized to view this Content" and our EMC rep said it is an internal document so does not do normal customers any good.

That's because it requires a PS engagement.

You missed the whole point of my Reply. The EMC Tech referenced a KB that is not available to Non EMC Employees.
