You could try host based mirroring. This way your host is in control, but the downside is that all data is read from EVA and send back over the same HBAs to the new VNX. Depending on the amount of data this can be a painful long process.

You must install SANCopy enabler onto your VNX first using with USM.
After install enabler,
1. configure zoning,
2. updateconnection ( # naviseccli -h xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx sancopy -updateconnections)
3. Then you could find VNX's wwn on your Eva and do lun masking
4. copy them from eva to vnx using naviseccli.
Please refer the attached documents.

Dynamox,
Deleted my comment as your correct and my comment should not misguide others .Powerepath will only work with supported arrays and Veritas may help here for migration. And EMC open migrator is one more tool for host based migration but need to check will it work for HP-UX or not.

Alfred,
I performed this migration last year and for HP-UX I used host based mirroring. I was able to control where I wanted luns and setup a new configuration to optimize my disk layout.
Thanks,
ACS

I have done this. For hp-ux the migration is fairly simple the prep work takes some time.
Thanks,

I have a customer looking to migrate off of HP EVA's running HP UX and on to a Unity (or VNX). For those who have done this migration, are you open to sharing your experience? Albert Smith sounds like you might have done this before...
Thank you!
