Automating snapshot creation (python)

Hi,

Is there any one here who is working with Python for scripting snapshots creation?

We’ve recently created a new environment with ScaleIO 2 and found out that our scripts are not working any more… (We used to work with ScaleIO v1.32).

I've looked for a new ScaleIO-py version but the ones I've found are missing the snapshots creation...

I'll be happy to know if someone here knows of a new ScaleIO-py version I can use? What is your way to automate the snapshot creations?

Thanks in advance

I'm using something similar to the one you sent..

The errors we got were not very clear, but we were going over the script now to try and reduce the cause for the problem and found that unlike ScaleIO 1.32 , in version 2 we were not getting the system ID automatically. after adding the system ID filed manually the script is now working again

thanks for your help!

Hi Odelia,

Are you talking about these Python scripts:

https://github.com/swevm/scaleio_sdk/

?

Or you simply use scripts written by yourself? As far as I am aware, the snapshot CLI syntax is pretty much the same between 1.32 and 2.0. Are specific errors you are getting?

Thanks!
