ScaleIO Maintenance mode with ESXI (hyperconverged)
Hi,
Just a little question with maintenance for restart a node on VMWare cluster with ScaleIO.
Process is :
-Put SDS in maintenance Mode
-Put ESXI in Maintenance Mode
-Restart hypervisor
For Scaleio Gateway VM, the VM will move if it is on this ESXI, but for SVM, do i need to shutdown it after SDS Maintenance Mode?
Regards,
Cyrille

Hi Cyrille,
After putting SDS into maintenance mode, shut down the SVM, then put ESXi into maintenance mode and restart it, once it's up SVM should come back up automatically, but if not - start it manually and when it's running take it out of SDS maintenance mode.
Cheers,
Pawel

Hi,
I am pretty sure you can automate it using PowerCLI + SCLI - put SVM into IMM using scli, then shut it down and move ESXi host into maintenance mode, then reboot it using PowerCLI.
Cheers,
