ScaleIO RAM CAHCE limits

Hello, was anyone able to setup more than 49GB or RAM Cache memory ?

Our SDS nodes have 128 GB of RAM , and according documentation :

The amount of RAM you can allocate for cache is limited by the amount of RAM on the

SDS server:

◆ If the RAM is less than 32 GB, 50% of memory can be used for cache

◆ If the RAM is more than 32 GB, 75% of memory can be used for cache

But we cannot set value bigger than 49GB.

Thanks,

Matas

Hi Matas,

Can you please have a look at this KB and tell us if that's the case, do you have NUMA enabled and each "node" holds part of the RAM memory?

https://support.emc.com/kb/463700

Many thanks,

Pawel

Hello, yes this is our case. it works exactly as per document.

however: Our ScaleIO version is 2.0.0.2

so it means design of using only one  NUMA node isn't changed from 1.3 version ?

Hi Matas,

From what I see in ScaleIO 2.0 User Guide it's the same as in the KB I mentioned - it _might_ change in 2.0.1 or 2.1, but that's just a wish, I don't really know what's the roadmap for this...

Cheers,

Pawel
