ESRS v2.28 and PM 6.6 O/S compatibility
Hi,
The release notes for ESRS v2.28 do not list Windows Server 2012 R2 as a supported O/S. The same is true for Policy Manager 6.6.
I assume that both are compatible with this version of Windows, but will this information be added to the release notes? If not, is it possible to get a support statement for my customer confirming the compatibility?

hi Jon,
I can confirm that ESRS 2.28 and Policy Manager 6.6 are not supported and not tested on Windows 2012 R2 and I'm not awareness of documentation that certified the use of it. ESRS VE is the new targhet.

Thanks for the reply.
As there are going to be customers who may not want to use ESRS VE, are there any plans to test ESRS 2.28 on newer versions of Windows? Even if customers do choose to use ESRS VE, they will still need to use PM 6.6 won't they?

Hi Jon,
ESRS 2.28 is not under test and will not support the new type of device. About the Policy Manager I'm not sure but consider that there is also the Linux version.

Where can i find Policy Manager virtual edition, i only see the gateway/ve ?

Hi,
There is no virtual edition of Policy Manager. It is still version 6.6 for either Windows or Linux. You can find it in the Support Portal. Select Support by Product, search for and select product "EMC Secure Remote Services Gateway Configuration". On the product page select Downloads. The version for Windows 64 is displayed as first item, the other versions are in the section Product Tools at the bottom of the list.

From Marco's responses, I can see that ESRS v2.28 is no longer going to be tested for new O/S versions, but presumably Policy Manager will be?
