Automating SourceOne Installs

Hello everyone. We have a large number of servers in our environment (around 70) and need to script out the S1 installs (Worker, Web, Search, Native Archive) as much as possible.

Their server installs don't seem to be able to run silently, even though for the most part the user inputs are the same for each role. Has anyone been able to automate these installs so their install team isn't overwhelmed when it's time to upgrade and you have a ton of servers?

If it matters, we're on Domino and Windows 2008.

Thanks!

Rudy

Hello Rudy,

From supportability prospective because command lines or switches are not documented by EMC SourceOne engineering team in the SourceOne documentation (except for Offline Access), that would mean any upgrades done without following the documentation might cause difficulties if an issue would be found after upgrade and could not be reproduced by following the procedure documented.

It does not mean that switches does not already exists.

The best option I could think of is to get EMC SourceOne team to have the procedures, command lines and witches be documented and supported. To do this you can open service request with EMC SourceOne support and have them raise request for enhancement for you (if it does not already exist).

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Rajan
