EX2016 - archiving - System call failed. (0x86040100) Unknown error (0x8004011D)

Hello,

I have problem with few mailboxes during archiving task. In workers log:

In this activity we're archiving ~ 80 mailboxes using two workers and only tasks for few mialboxes ends with failed status. Where could be a problem?

Are you in a mixed/hybrid mode for Exchange 2016?

This looks like a problem with either the MAPI profile for the SourceOne service account, incorrect outlook configuration, or you are in hybrid and moved your SourceOne mailbox to Exchange 2016.

 

First thing I would suggest is stop S1 services, remove the SourceOne Outlook profile and recreate it (yes you do still have to call it out specifically EMCSourceOne).  Would also suggest you get the right version of Outlook and even though 64-bit is supported, we still advocate x86 for Outlook.

If you are in hybrid mode, open a ticket to support and have them get you the KB patch for putting Outlook 2010 on and getting the right SP and patch in place for hybrid.  We have had a dozen or so of our customers try to put E2K16 up, move the S1 mailbox, then call us in a panic because SourceOne is not archiving.  The O2K10 and KB patch always fixes this problem.
