OWA installed for Exchange 2007 SP1 is supported on x64 bit WIndows server. Please download latest Messaging compatibility guide from powerlink.emc.com, it shuld have all details.
Also read "EmailXtender 4.81 Patch 1147 release notes.pdf" that is packaged inside the install kit you downloaded (not to get confused with the release notes in the DOCUMENTAION folder, those are old), that has explanation on installing OWA support for Exchange 2007 SP1
Hello, I alredy read Messaging compatibility guide and EmailXtender 4.81 Patch 1147 release notes. Yes, OWA Shortcut Support installation package should be supported on x64 bit Windows server. When I try to install ExOWA2007Setup.exe that is part of installation package, I always get message from Windows Installer:
This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor.
That's a funny one... just for testing purposes, I tried to run this in a demo version with WS2k3 64bit with Exchange 2007 installed. I've previously installed the EX 8.1.655 successfully (the OWA installation does not work on 32bit at all).
I got the error: "Microsoft Exchange 2007 was detected. That version of Exchange is not currently supported!"
I guess they are reading some information out of the registry and didn't get this right in their programming! The support matrix does (officially) support my config too.
No, 32bit for Exchange is not supported from Microsoft. This Exchange 2007 version is just for testing purposes and EMC does not provide an OWA component for an unsupported 32bit version. This is by desing.
I am not sure why you are getting this error but I have just finished installing the same for a customer who was installing in on Windows 2008(x64) and Exchange 2007 SP1.
Did you copy the install file locally and then unlocked it ? Some times when files are run from remote location or files where copied from another remote location they are locked by Windows which you need to unlock from file properties.
In this case best I could suggest is to speak to EMC EmailXtender Support. They might require webex session to look at the server that is having problem.

@ellef, I would contact support for this.
Hope that helps,

Funny, that OWA installation didn`t work on 32bit.
You probably have installed Exchange 2007 without SP1, because Exchange 2007 without SP1 is not supported.
