CompUSA Ultra ATA/133 PCI Control Card

I bought a CompUSA Ultra ATA/133 PCI Control Card and wondered if their are
any issues with these. I want to hook my Bootable Maxtor ATA/133 80gig
Harddrive to that while opening channel 1 for a Lite-on CDRW.  I know this should go with my cdrw thread but figured i might get a more broad responce if i post this card from people who have tried it.

NO Sweat,

I hooked one up to a new maxtor 120 gig.

The card is made by Promise and sold as CompUSa.

Just follow directions and it should work fine.

NOTE: It has been recommended in the forum to install the Promise card in PCI slot #1

how you know which PCI slot is #1?

dagger666.

The PCI slot #1, is usually the one next to the AGP slot.

someone on another bb gave me this responce;

OOOOHHH, that could be a problem......If you are running an integrated
mainboard, slot 1 is the first one , looking from top to bottom. If it
is not an integrated mainboard and you are running a PCI video card,
That video card should be in slot 1. If it is a mainboard with AGP and
you are running an AGP card in the slot, the first one next to the AGP
slot is slot one, but....You can't put anything in there because AGP and
slot one pci share an IRQ... The best you could do is slot two. I have
my  Highpoint sata raid controller in slot 4, and it works
perfectly.......YMMV......

don't know what intergrated MB & none Intergrated MB's are? I though all MB's were mainboards?
