Roxio CD Creator
I have a Dell Dimension 4500, when I try to burn data onto a CD I get an error half-way through the process and a wasted CD-R. What can I do to fix the problem or has anyone had the same problem with Roxio?

I am having the same problem.
The errors that I get are. E8004139a:Idispatch Error #4506 & E80070057:The parameter is incorrect.. I am using Roxio Easy CD creator 5.2 Basic.. We did an update that was on the Roxio Website but that didn't help either..
Thanks

I just got my new Dell 4550 last week and ran into the exact problem you are describing. After reading some reccomendations on this board, I decided to try Stomp RecordNow Max from Veritas software (go to download.com to get a trial version).
Not only does this software seem to solve the problem, but it cut the burn time of a regular audio cd in half from what Roxio was doing. I'm still evaluating the product, but its definitely looks like the way to go. It's a shame Roxio's stuff doesn't work any better than it does, because I don't think this other software really offers any other features...other than the fact that it works.

one other note if you do use record now max: you should uninstall roxio first,it can conflict with record now max(see the readmetxt in record now max) you can download free trial here(30 days fully functinal version) http://www.stompinc.com/trial/index.phtml?stp
i switched from roxio to record now max 4.5 awhile ago and love it for cd's/dvd's, but i suggest not installing the DLA feature of record now max if you purchase the full version of it,supposedly it can cause headaches. just after installing the record now max, you will be prompted to install DLA, just cancel out of it and dont install it.(this happens on the full cd version, not the fre trial version) when making dvd's with record now max, close wizard and choose "DATA", thats the best way i found to do it. for cd's you can use wizard if you want, havent found any problems doing that.the only 1 thing i dislike about record now max 4.5.is that when adding stuff to the list to be burned(cd's or dvd's) it can be a hassle going from window to window to add the stuff, but not a real big issue
