Confused host objects after host is cloned

The master and host were all upgraded with the SP4..

The last time I had issue was on a previous version. Good to know that there was suppose to be a fix. I will open a call and perhaps post the results here for others.

Chris is correct in what he states about it should be fixed automatically by the agent when on SP3 or higher.

If you look up the following knowledge article on powerlink you will see the last statement states the following;

Beginning with EMC ControlCenter 5.2 Service Pack 3, the ControlCenter Server now takes action to correct cloned agents. The action that ECC Server takes will depend on the version of the cloned agent(s).

- For pre-SP3 agents, ControlCenter Server will shut down the cloned agent(s) and will report the above error in the server trace and the agent log.
- For SP3 agents, ControlCenter Server will shut down the cloned agent(s), will correct the appropriate agent(s) COMFILE files, and will then force the agent to reinitialize with ControlCenter Server via INITX

SAC stated that there is mention on how to fix in the error logs but it is not fixed automatically.

Here is the fix.

Stop agents
remove .COMFILE and .lck files from /var/ECC
delete objects from ECC
restart agents.

Thats odd I must say, why have a knowledge article saying its fixed automatically when it's clearly not the case.

Will mark the knowledge article to be reviewed by owner, as the information it presents is indeed false.

i have the same problem on windows 2003 server. ecc 5.2 SP4.
