ECC and VMWare (ESX)
Hi all,
Is there a way to have a master agent and a host agent running on the physical host in a vmware environnement. I mean real host not the virtual host running a guest OS.
That 's a pity to have to manually declare physical node running ESX under ECC console.

I just tried something
in ESX 3.0.1 ( which is based on a RHEL 3 ) I tried to installed ECC agents + Symcli.
The only thing needed was a csh shell to run all EMC scripts.
I now have ESX natively recognized on ECC with native symcli !!
I guess an RPQ should be asked

I just added a tcsh RPM file, And then just added "rpm -iv RPM_NAME" as the first line of the install_master script ..
Works like a charm...
Another Warning : By default, ESX comes with a built-in Firewall which block all incoming/outgoing connections. So, to resolve the issue, open 2 specific bidirctional ports , one for the Master Agent and one for the Host agent .
