Is there prerequisites to do on ECC before upgrading a Clariion

There are really just two things I would check before the upgrade.

• Make sure that communication/discovery is working fine for that array before you upgrade. That way you will know after if you have a net new problem (if communication fails) or if it was pre-existing
  
• Check that the version and patch level of ControlCenter you are running supports the FLARE code that will be on the array when the upgrade is complete. We recently performed a similar upgrade and had to get EMC to put the latest patch level of FLARE 28 on the array instead of FLARE 29. FLARE 29 requires a specific patch level added on top of UB7 and we are not there yet
