According to emc180436, it says not. But this makes me wonder. I searched the release notes dated May 29, 2012 and there is no mention of NPIV in there. We have DS5100s running v6.4.2a FOS and of 4 virtual WWNs I should be seeing when trying to create a new zone, only one appears. Rediscovering the fabrics makes no diff.
ECC is 220.127.116.11.849.
Anybody have a definitive on this or am I wasting my time?
NPIV is not supported in ControlCenter and it never will be.
This is documented in page 131 of the support matrix.
h. Ionix ControlCenter does not support N Port Identifier Virtualization (NPIV) / Brocade Access Gateway, Virtual fabrics & logical
switches, and Administrative Domains features.
NPIV is planned to be supported in ProSphere 2.0 release date Q4 2012.
Interesting. Our EMC team told us the ProSphere would never have the SAN manager functionality that ECC has. It seems pretty weak to me that they let all of us using SAN manager hang in the wind. Real nice.
