SRDF/A over GigE packet loss

Studying for exam E20-326 in Module 6 check your knowledge questions;

Q: What is the EMC recommendation for packet loss in SRDF/A over GigE implementations?

A: When I answer 0.1% as is detailed in the study material, it gives me incorrect answer stating correct answer is 0.01% (This is the recommendations for SRDF/S)... Is this a typo and which is right for the exam...?

Thanks folks,
Gerald

I checked in with Ed Gibbons, one of our Symmetrix SMEs.

He sent this document, and advises you to check on page 95, for this paragraph:

A quality link should have packet loss no greater than 0.01%. SRDF can tolerate packet loss up to 1%. If the packet loss is greater than 0.01% it is not considered a quality link and will typically result in throughput that is severally impacted.

Thanks for the info Kate, yep I double checked with Vanchi, acceptable rates for packet loss are:

SRDF/S - 0.01%

SRDF/A - 0.1%

Great! I'll let Ed know. And tell Vanchi he should join in the ECN, so he can help everyone with answers!

Yeah, I wonder why Vanchi isn't on ECN. Andre Rossouw is a member though.

I also miss VS and Shekhar
