Can't register in Support Assist - unexpected error occurred while updating your contact information
I've been trying to register in SupportAssist but haven't been able in the past two months.
Whenever I try, after I log in and I'm asked to update my details, I get this error (Unexpected error occurred while updating your contact information).
Moreover, when trying to contact support within the tool, I get an error as well, in both sections.
Please let me know how I can solve the issue.
Thanks,

Thank you contacting the forum for your question. This is a known issue with the SupportAssist Application. The hotfix is going to be released by FEB end. But there is a work around in place to fix this issue. Please contact Dell Tech Support on call since this requires some details that cannot be requested/shared in the forum as per Dell's privacy policy.
Thanks
Kusuma.

I have exactly the same issue.
I purchased 2 desktops in November ( XPS8930). Both have Support Assist installed and there is a prompt asking me to register Support Assist. On one computer I get a script error. On the other computer I have the same error as you.
I rang Tech Support (in Hong Kong) and they told me I should try and reset Windows. I tried this on one computer but I still get a script error.
It's now March, so hope that the fix arrives soon!

Hello,
I just bought a laptop and I get the same error while trying to register to Support Assist. Did you figured out why already?
Thanks

Hi there,
have been experiencing the same problem for several months.
Note that, even though it's already April, fix doesn't seem to have come out yet?
Here's a screenshot for reference:
Kind regards,

The registration problem appears to have been solved after updating to the latest version of Support Assist (Version 2), which I was prompted to do a few days ago.
However, after updating to the latest version of Support Assist, it won't load at all (the icon just says loading optimization tools and blinks and blinks).
There is no repair function available for this app under Settings ( the only options are "modify"or "uninstall'}
Is there a way to revert to the old version or should I just uninstall the new version?
