Dell support person,
Why don't you answer the concrete question the community has?
I don't know where to rename as someone suggested as I'm not a tech person.
Give us a solution that we all understand quickly so we don't have to spend hours of our precious time resolving a problem caused by Dell, which should not happen in the first place or at least be resolved once you pick it up from this community.
Thanks.

Would you please tell me/us how to find and rename dellsupportAssist not responding from control panel to C:/programfiles..... you posted on June 18,2018 so that I can rename it as you suggested. Many thanks.

This re-name image file solution (kudos pauldmich) worked for me. Don't know how you got there and why Dell not all over it, but there you go!

It was in the x64 version
C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources
not in the x86 version
C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources

I have no idea which version I have. Nor do I care. Is there a way to simply turn off this piece of **bleep** Dell software?

I had the same issue 'supportAssist not responding'. This is how I fixed the issue:
1. Check MS history update for KB4284835 installed on June 12, 2018. If you have this
one installed go to step 2.
2. Uninstall DellsupportAssist. then restart your computer.
3. Go to Dellsupportassist website to download and install Dellsupportassistinstaller. Or
you could use @DellFanHungary posted on this site on June 14, 2018. Make sure you
run as admin. It worked for me. Hope this helps !!!
