When I open SupportAssist it locks up and it puts that it does not responding, some solution? I've been waiting for a while to it open and nothing

also having this problem. Support assist window freezes on loading, when when I close it, it gives the error "Supportassist UI not responding"
Rebooting does not fix this problem either.

Mine started freezing on launch. Went to C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources\New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png and deleted -Small. Should look like New-Dell-Logo-White.png.
Working now.

Renaming C:\Program Files\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\Resources\New-Dell-Logo-White-Small.png to New-Dell-Logo-White.png worked for me. Thanks!

Same here. For a couple weeks now. You would think Dell would fix this issue by now.

This worked for me.

But someone should explain why a simple misnamed file can cause an entire vital application to freeze and be totally unusable.

OK, bizarre. Had the same problem and that fixed it. Why does that work?

Thank you for your message. I apologize for the inconvenience caused & will be glad to assist you on this.
The update that was installed, is that a Dell driver update or an update from Windows?
What is the version of BIOS & Support Assist installed?
Have you tried reinstalling Support Assist to check if there is an error during installation?
Has the step provided by “pauldmich” to rename the file worked?
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
What is a Dell Service Tag and how do I locate it?
