SA, Inspiron 7577, won't work

Hello everyone... I hope someone can help!

I've been using my Dell inspiron 7577 no major problems. But lately I haven't been able to use the SupportAssist from dell. When I try to optimize... any of the options won't respond... It always says it's preparing at 0% and it won't run... Waiting for a long time and it doesn't move from 0%. I have tried Restarting, reinstalling the program, but nothing does the trick. I have also tried a compability mode at Windows 7...

Pinkal,

I am having the same issue with Support Assistant.  I will not install no matter what link I use .  Keep getting it has run to a problem and is shutting down.  Trying to install in a Latitude E4200.

I have a R15 Alienware and I had the same problem, and as of now I have tried multiple times to uninstall-reinstall to get the dang thing to work. Yet now, I am only left with the situation where I can't even open Support Assist anymore. Like, when I try to open the application, it doesnt even open or start the software anymore.

Can someone please help me get rid of this infuriating problem.

Thanks, this works for me.  Since the update on June 9, would open but not populate although I kept getting notices from Dell via support assist to carry out important updates.  So it would not launch but would send me notices all the time to use it!  I am not a tech expert by a long shot but I think something went very wrong on the update and that is on all my machines.--all different dell models.  Never had a problem with support assist before and I have had it on machines for many years and it helps to keep current..  Plus since June 9th support assist agent was keeping my machine awake.

Seems to work now, time will tell if this reinstall continues to perform well.

Thanks again

I am so so so aggravated with Support Assist... did a clean install day before yesterday. went to dell.com downloaded Support Assist and then I started getting this pop up screen telling me that I had 2 issues  1.  my battery was not being detected  2. My BIOS needed to be updated.  And it did absolutely nothing.  It actually acted like malware or a virus and it continued to pop up and would not respond.  So today I did another factory reset and for the life of me, why do I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD SUPPORT ASSIST??? I really have better things to do with my time than deal with this stuff because Dell can't get their stuff together... I am so over this...

My experience this time was that SupportAssist wouldn't start.  Restarting the PC didn't help.  But then I went to check on uninstalling it and found that there were 4 (FOUR) copies of Dell's SupportAssist installed on my Win10 laptop.  That is, there were 4 different versions of SA installed. Why don't they automatically uninstall the previous version when they install the next?

So I uninstalled two of the older versions from Programs and Features and the second of those uninstalled 2 of the entries in Programs and Features. Left with only one copy installed (the most recent version number of the original 4), SupportAssist then started and performed as expected.

Wish I would have seen this thread before buying a Dell! Same problems. No solution. My computer is barely running and it’s less than 6 months old:(
