Support Assist - OSMA not installed/SNMP not configured

We just installed SA on a Windows 2012 R2 Server. It shows SNMP not configured. When we go to available tasks, that option to configure SNMP is grayed out. However, there is an option to Install/upgrade OMSA so we chose that (even though it was not listed in the 'Status' column like the SNMP message is). We are currently using OMSA 8.4. We have waited for about 30 minutes and the OMSA version has not changed.

Note:  When we installed SA on another server (Windows 2008 R2) we had no issues upgrade OMSA from 8.4 and subsequently configuring SNMP we had no issues.

What should we do?

Thank you!

Compsos,

Just curious to know if you tried to remove the device from SAE and add it again after the upgrade?

Thanks.

Update--we went ahead and manually installed OMSA 8.5. We still have the same situation.Seems SA does not recognize we upgraded OMSA.

Version: 1.1.0.133  -- it is thev ersion a Dell support engineer sent us a link for and the same version we installed on a Windows 2008 server. Not sure what you mean by adapter for OME -we did not come across that in our first installation on a the 2008 server. This is only the second install of SA we have ever done so we might be missing something.  We have warranty on this server so if we can get Dell support over phone we can go that route. Thanks.

Just checked the Windows 2008 server-there are no adapters setup for it. Using same version of SA.

Found this in the SAE support docs but not sure what to make of it:

NOTE: If SupportAssist Enterprise does not support the configuration of SNMP on the device that you have selected, the Configure SNMP option is disabled.

Does this mean we do not use SNMP or that we have to configure manually?

We just deleted the device and re added it using local lan ip. It added fine. Same choices: Install OMSA, SMNP not configured (greyed out)

What version of SupportAssist are you running?  If it is SupportAssist Enterprise 1.1, are you using the adapter for OME?

There must be some fundamental issue with communicating with the system.  Since you have warranty, I think it is going to be best contacting DellEMC Technical Support and opening a case.  This way they can access the environment and isolate the issue more efficiently.

Thank You.
