I have DMX-2000 and on Group 1 I have devices that has been created before as R5(7+1) and now I delete some volumes and I have a empty space and I want to use that free place as R1 devices.My question is can I able to do that .I try to run command from SE to create that device but I 'm unable to do it.

With code 5671 you can't mix different RAID protection in the same frame. If you had 7+1 devices, you can create only 7+1 devices OR Mirrored devices.
If you deleted 7+1 devices, you now have a lot of tiny slices spread on a lot of different drives in the backend. If you try to create new Mirrored devices probably the change will fail since you don't have enough free (contiguous) capacity to build mirrored devices.

Can you please post the command you are issuing, the file describing the change and the resulting output ??

Thank you Stefano for answer.

The command that I run on SE is:
create dev count=27, size=20000, emulation=FBA, contigous=2-Way-Mir,disk_group=1;

Yes I know that I don' t have to mix R5 (7+1) & R1 on the same Disk Group but I try to find a documentation ...like pdf or some primus...about that issue...also it s true that I don t have free(continuous) space to create R1 devices....

I guess R1 = 2-Way-Mir in your mind .. :-)

If you want to find how much freespace you have on your drives, you can easily have a rough idea using symdisk command. See below:

star1_prod/root> symdisk -sid 142 -v -cyl -gaps -disk_group 1 list

Please note that the output can be huge .. in my example I'm showing only first disk out of 288 disks in the backend .. :-)

Symmetrix ID                 : 000xxxx00142
Disks Selected               : 288

  Director                   : DF-1A
  Interface                  : C
  Target ID                  : 0
  Disk Group Number          : 1

  Vendor ID                  : SEAGATE
  Product ID                 : SX3146807FC
  Product Revision           : CH146LF
  Serial ID                  : 3HY0C03J

  Disk Blocks                : 286339876
  Block Size                 : 512
  Actual Disk Blocks         : 286749475
  Total Disk Capacity (CYL) : 298270
  Free Disk Capacity (CYL) : 3610
  Actual Disk Capacity (CYL) : 298697
  Hypers                     : 45

  Hot Spare                  : False

  Failed Disk                : False

  Gaps   (4):
    {
     Hyper   Hyper      Device  Device    Gap
     Before After Before After Size (CYL)
     ------  -----      ------  -----     ---------
         17     18        114F   0D3E           924
         32     33        1192   0E0E           460
         37     38        121F   0F5E           924
         45      0        12F5   0F5E          1286
    }

As you can see, I have over 3600 cyls but I can't create a single 3000 cyl mirrored device since this drive have freespace but it's fragmented, while mirror requires contiguous space. Using freespace from this drive, I can only craete a single 1280cyl mirrored device. Or three 900 cyl devices ..

You don't have issues here. You simply don't have enough contiguous freespace to build mirrored devices ;-)

Thank you Stefano, I know that I don t have contiguous place but can I able to defrag that place.. to able to use that space as Raid 10

No .. unfortunatly DMX doesn't offer a "defrag" facility ..
You have to move your data elsewhere and delete more slices (more devices) to carve enough contiguous space for a mirrored device.

We could exchange our arrays: you'll get my Clariion and we'll get your DMX ;)
