Convert Thin Concatenated Meta to Thin Striped Meta on VMAX ??

I need to convert a Thin  Meta from Concat to Striped.  It does not seem to be supported.....  I guess  this means a dissolve and new form?  *sigh*

I do not need to save any data...  The data on disk can be destroyed.

$ symconfigure -sid XXXX -cmd  "convert meta 08b2 config=STRIPED, stripe_size=1920, protect_data=FALSE  ;" commit

Aaron,

converting concatenated thin metadevices to striped metadevices is not supported, it is supported for regular thick devices though. Gotta love VMAX ..so much virtualization yet can't do things good ol' thick devices could.

i know ...you are not the only one frustrated with some of these VMAX limitations, here is another one for you ..can't SRDF thick to thin. So why did i get a VMAX ..oh i know, the cool neon lights.

Well, all I have to say to that is .....  Darn.

Time to pull back a whole bunch (several hundred) of LUNs so I can unbind, dissolve, and form them striped....

Thanks!

Aaron
