Disk group and composite group ( naming ) standarts

Hello,

I'm interested to hear what naming conventions you use for disk groups and composite groups. We're planning to implement GNS in our environment and before that we need to make sure the names of the groups are self explanatory.
Any recommendations are welcome.

Really hard to give suggestions .. It mainly depend on how you build your DG/CG. If you define a DG (or CG) for every single application, you can use the name of the application to "build" the DG name. If you build a DG for every single host, you can use the hostname... In some cases you'll have a DG for every RDF group so the name of the DG may be something DG_RDFG11 (in case you are building a DG with devices on RDF group 11)..

I think it depends :-)

It looks like nobody uses standardized DG/CG names in their storage environment, unfortunatly :-)
