Enabling sc3 attribute for FA port, Impact on connected hosts.

I may need to enable this SC3 attribute for my V-Max FA1 and FA2 ports (FA1 and FA2 are multipathed) . So I am trying to see the best practice here and the impact on the hosts connected to these FAs due to this change. As far as I know we must take the port offline and set the attribute and bring it back online. do one port at a time. such that hosts access I/O down the other FA-2. Is there anyway doing on the fly, or any other way around. Currently host type connected to these FAs are most part AIX, few solaris, linux and esx.

Thanks in advance.

do it at initiator level with symaccess set hba_flags command, you will need to reboot the host for it to take affect.

Yes, do it on initiator level and host reboot is required as initiator needs to log out and log back in to the FA port for the changes to take effect.
