Above is the error msg .host is solaris. host is conn to symm array.

can anyone tell me what is this related to?

how to find the disk identity?

These errors look like they're from a host running StorageTek (now SUN) ACSLS tape library sharing product.

An STK 9940 is a tape drive, so it would appear these messages are to do with an attached tape library & its drives, and not Symmetrix disks.

the host also seems to be connected to a tape drive. this error is about the tape drive.

Maggie from your posts it looks like that tapes gives a lot more trouble then disks ;-)

that library might be connected through a TAN (Tape Area Network) switch and you may watch and monitor connecting to the swicth . Looks like a shared drive among multiple hosts
