Powerpath related issue

Hi

I am getting the following incorrect info [highlighted info] from powermt display output. The OS is Sun solaris 10 and connected to DMX 3. Multipath policy is actually configured to 'symmopt ' [powermt set policy=so] but it is set 'Basicfailover' policy.  And, the second path is 'unlic' not sure what does it mean.

please kindly help me to resolve this

Pseudo name=emcpower8a
Symmetrix ID=xxx

Logical device ID=0724

Hi,

if you are seeing "unlic" it means that the path is possibly still unlicensed.

powermt set policy=so dev=all

powermt save

Should sort this out.

Some revs of powerpath on a new install require you to do this,  following the install.  This will be documented in the release notes.

did "emcpreg -list" returns you with license information? Also "powermt display options" displaying Clariion as managed?

Thanks SKT for responding my query and the output of emcpreg and powermt display options as given below.

emcpreg -list

  Key xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  Product: PowerPath
  Capabilities: All

powermt display options

        Default storage system class: all
        Show CLARiiON LUN names:      true

        Path Latency Monitor: Off

        Path Latency Threshold: 0 Sec.

SKT, my concern is why the policy is set to 'BasicFailover' though i set it to so [symmopt]

unlic means unlicensed and basic failover mode is all you get if its not licensed or "thinks" its not licensed.  Basic failover mode can also be set manually.

Please try rebooting the server, if no license issue, hope it should help.
