Virtual AIX 6.1 host will not log into VMAXe
I have a virtual AIX 6.1 host that will not log into VMAXe on FA ports 2E:0, 4E:0. I have checked zoning (Cisco 9513) and ensured that each of the four WWN's log into the switch. but when I run symaccess -sid 0554 list logins -dirport 2E:0 it shows the host a "Logged in" no and "On Fabric" Yes. I have done the following troubleshooting:
- EMC support logged in to the array and ran full health checks with no issues on the array or these specific ports.
- The system admin has run cfgmgr several times.
- The system admin has confirmed that the HBA's are set for "switched fabric"
- Ensured that the host WWN's log into the fabric where expected and with the correct WWN's.
- I have removed zoning, cleared the logins entries and added the zones back,
- Run an EMC grab on the host and it comes back with no issues.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Host Name: LITIADBD001PF
Product Model : VMAXe

There are two physical AIX 6.1 servers connected to these FA ports and functioning without issue.
I am also having this issue with two other AIX virtual nodes on FA ports 1F:0, 3F:0.

Not sure if it helps to know, but the devices are thin devices bound to a thin pool and associated to a FAST VP policy, but so is the storage masked to the two physical AIX hosts on the same FA ports. Below are the FA flag settings for FA port 2E:0

Have you finished creating the masking view? Please finish the masking and rerun the symaccess list login command.

Correct, and I zoned them to use the ports with multiple AIX hosts already on them so I know the ports are configured correctly.
