it depends how many arrays you can see from this host (plus ones visible via RDF), but should not take very long.

how may devices have mapped to this FA?

What type is your Array.

Probably you have to run the command symmaskdb -sid <> list database (really i don't remember this moment) to check on the FA how many devices are masked and which of this devices have the indicator NONE.

You have to delete those masking.

Some times you cannot perform device masking operation because there are no available slots in the VCM databae for the FA port in question. The maximum number of slots available for an FA in the VCMDB type 3 is 32 (it is the most common type for DMX)

The command to delete the NONE masking enrty is: symmask -sid <> -wwn <> delete -dir all -p all
