C2100 RAC password
We acquired a brand new C2100, trying to set up the DRAC. The DRAC is set with static IP, and the web interface is working. Trying root/calvin doesn't seem to work for the login. Is there a different one for the C2100 DRAC login? I notice in the BIOS the remote access section is greyed out, and it is disabled.
How do you reset this or enable the default root user in the bios?

Hello officeofresearch
The default is root/root on the C2100. If that does not work then I would recommend booting to the BMC BIOS via CTL + E and resetting it to default. After you reset you will need to re-enter the network configuration.
Thanks

Hello Kris
Correct, there is not a CTL E to enter the BMC. The BMC functionality is integrated into the regular system BIOS under the server tab.
The only way to change from the default user/pass is through the operating system on the server via IPMI. You will need something like IPMItool installed. The command syntax will be similar to this:
#ipmitool user set password 2 newpassword
The number 2 in the command is referring to user ID # 2 which is root.
Thanks

DELL-Daniel, that was it! We've got 2650/2950/710, and got used to root/calvin. Thank you.

We have the PowerEdge C2100 and there is no such Ctrl + E option available. We would love to get into the BIOS and reset our password to defaut. Does something else need to be done in order to gain access to the BMC BIOS?
Thanks.

Default credentials according to Dell's "Using the Baseboard
Management Controller" documentation should be root/root.
