Can I reset the iDrac7 password from within OMSA?

Howdy,

So we've had many various iDrac7 passwords over the years and we have a couple that we don't know what they are any more.  Is there a way we can reset the ROOT password from within OMSA?  If not, what's the best way to do that that doesn't involve rebooting the server at all?

Thanks.

There are two methods you could use provided you have access to the host system with OMSA installed and the local racadm tool installed as part of your OMSA installation.

Commands will need to be executed from an elevated command prompt.  You may want to verify you are still using ID2 for root (per defaults) by performing racadm get iDRAC.Users.2 prior to attempting first command.

1. racadm set iDRAC.Users.2.Password
2. racadm racresetcfg (followed by re-configuration of the iDRAC)

Thanks,

Wayne
