Cant Access BMC
Im working on some entry level networking stuff at the moment, have been reading up and down about dell servers trying to figure this out. Some of the servers in this environment run drac/bmc combos and some are only equipped with bmc. The particular server im having trouble with is a dell poweredge 2900 without drac card. I can access the bmc through a program on my local machine by supermicro that allows me to power cycle and other functions remotely, but when i try to access the bmc by ip address in my web browser it says the page cant be displayed.
I have updated the bmc to revision 2.50.
IPMI is enabled (ver. 2.0)
IP address is grabbing from DHCP
Im using openmanage to configure
The nic config is set to shared with no option for dedicated.
Im usually on the machine via RDP even when testing from my local browser.
I am stumped at this point, looking for input. If you decide to help please remember my network knowledge is still entry level.
Thanks ahead of time

RyanB898,
The issue you are running into is due to the fact that the BMC does have IP connectivity for IPMI alerts and the functionality you have seen with the power cycles/functions, but does not have a GUI. That is actually present in the Drac cards logic. So trying to connect to the ip via browser will result in what you are seeing.
Let me know if this answers your question.
