DSM SA Data Manager service will not start
Hello.
I am having problems with the "Dell OpenManage Server Administrator" on my PowerEdge 2900.
Information does not appear in "system" or "storage manager" (No storage controllers detected).
I am using version 6.20.
I noticed that the "DSM SA Data Manager" service will not start.
The event log has the following message:
----
Source: VsJITDebugger
Event ID: 4096
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe [6460]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: Either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impersonation level is invalid.
Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors' for more information.
----
I have tried reinstalling, but no luck.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks for the help.

When you reinstalled OMSA, did you use the Administrator account with full local admin rights?

No.
So I uninstalled and re-installed using a local admin account.
During the reinstall, I received the following message:
---------------------------
Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger
---------------------------
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in dsm_sa_datamgr32.exe [3084]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time.
Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors' for more information.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Something is amiss somewhere, but I'm not too sure what.

can you start the dsm_sa_datamgr32 service manually after the reboot is completed, or does that fail too?

ewww. You're going to have to start with basics. keep startup apps from running and see what happens.

SOLVED! :emotion-1:
Someone had a similar problem:
OMSA fails with LSI 22320 U320 HBA installed
http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-poweredge/2008-November/037805.html
I have 2 LSI20320IE installed on myr server.
So I modified the following file :
"C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\sm\stsvc.ini"
Commenting out the LSI driver :
;vil3=dsm_sm_nrsvil
DSM SA Data Manager service now load without any problem.
Thanks to all.
