Is it possible to change factory defaults?

Hi!

I have two sets of dell servers with different idrac factory default settings.

Is it possible to change it to have the same settings for all servers when I do reset to factory defaults?

Thanks!

Hello,

The factory default settings are packaged into the firmware, it's not something that can be changed. That having been said, the factory defaults should be the same among various servers. What defaults are you seeing on which servers?

The difference is in idrac network settings.

I have one group of servers with static address (192.168.0.120) as a factory defaults (12th and 13th gen) and another group with DHCP configuration enabled (14th gen).

I would like to enable DHCP for all servers when I perform reset to factory defaults.

Yeah, that was a change when 14G released. You can't set new default states, but what you could do is look at using something like OpenManage Essentials to manage the iDRACs. You'd need to have OpenManage Server Administrator installed on the hosts to do that, though.

So sad (

Could it be changed in next firmware updates for 12th/13th generation?
