Monitoring Dell Systems with HP SIM

I was told when I purchased my first Dell server that Dell are capable of being monitored by HP SIM software.   I contacted HP and made sure I am loading the Server MIBs correctly.   I have OM 5.4 installed on my Dell Server.   Still no hardware failures are reporting.    We had an incident where we had to replace a hard drive in one server, it should have alerted us that one drive on the mirror was in a failed state.

Thanks in advanced

1) Dell provides Management Packs for monitoring Dell Servers with thrid-party software. Go to support.dell.com then Drivers and Downlaods -> provide the service tag, then in the Drivers and Downloads page that comes up for the server model, expand the table row for "Systems Management" that will include the management packs available. I think there is one for HP OV-NNM available for Windows.

2) if you just want to forward alerts, assuming you are using IT Assistant/OMSA combination to monitor Dell servers in the first place, you could create an "Alert Action" of tye "Trap Forwarding" in IT Assistant. While doing this configuration, provide the address of the HP system as trap destination address.

I got the MIBs from their site, about three of them will not compile on the SIM server.    As of now, I don't get any alerts when hardware fails.   I have a call in Dell but as of now, there has been no progress made on it.   that is why I trying to get perhaps someone that has this working.
