Monitoring PE R610 running RHEL4 with OMSA
Hi,
I have been pulling my hair out to get OMSA working on a PE R610.
I have tried many OMSA versions and finally was able to get version 6.0.1 running correctly. However i am still missing the most important bit of info i was hoping for:
omreport storage controller
No controllers found
This is what i get in dcsys32.xml:
The initialization sequence of SAS components failed during system startup. SAS management and monitoring is not possible.
The Red Hat server is 32 bits so is OMSA.
Here is a list of components installed (I have installed them from source as there is a problem using yum repos with RHEL4, unfortunately i have to stick with this distro for now):

I have tried to install OMSA 6.3 which is listed on Dell Drivers page as the latest version supported on R610 with RHEL4 but when i run the installer i receive:
Error: Check whether the Dell OpenManage media is corrupted.
If you are using the Web pack to install Dell OpenManage,
ensure that you use the Web pack corresponding to the
architecture and operating system on your system.
The package i have is: OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-6.3.0-2075.RHEL4.x86_64_A00.15.tar.gz
I tried another bigger package (OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-LX-6.3.0-2075_A00.7.tar.gz) and got:

Hello,
It does sound like a corrupted install. Have you tried completely removing the old installation?
Refer to the command "rpm -e $(rpm -qa | grep srvadmin)" from http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/OMSA_6.3/
Please let us know how that goes.

Sorry, i forgot to mention. Alternatively try to install OMSA using the bootstrap.cgi from the link above instead of the tar.gz. downloads. This should more cleanly handle any dependencies that is required.
Please let us know how that goes.

Thanks for your reply, i did try the boostrap method which failed to find the packages (RHEL4 seems to have a problem with OMSA yum install).
Eventually i managed to get the package installed by removing the previous packages and also removing tog-pegasus which was conflicting.
Thanks.
