Need SBUU v1.2 (Trying to install Win2003 Server Ent on PE2850)

I recently acquired a PE2850 and have an unused copy of Win2003 Server Enterprise (Original, not SP2 or R2).  I'd like to manage the install with SBUU, and from what I can tell I need version 1.2.  Unfortunately, after hours of searching, I've had no luck finding that version on dell.com.  Am I heading in the wrong direction?  Help!

Cmyer,

This version should work for you.

www.dell.com/.../DriverDetails

Now with the OS, if this is Windows Server 2003 ENT SP0 the it will have issues. None of our servers support SP0, you must have Server 2003 SP1 or newer.

If you do have SP0 you will need to slip stream the Service Pack into the install.

Let me know how it goes.

What you might consider doing - if you have no SP at all - is using nLiteOS.com to integrate SP2 into your media, and just use the latest version of SBUU to install.

Wonderful--I'll try it!  I had already started the process of slipstreaming SP2 into my copy of 2003 and will follow through with that.  I'll let you know how it works out.

confirmed the md5 checksum error on SMTD 6.5, I'll run with this to fix it.

With 2003, SBUU is usually fine to install with, as it is much smaller than SMTD ... OMSA can be downloaded and installed separately after the install.

SMTD 6.5 would probably work, but it would have required SP2 media.

Thanks--both inputs above were critical to the solution.

Yes, Chris H, the SBUU v1.4 worked fine.  I had already dismissed it because, if you look at the documentation, it indicates it only works on 2003 R2.  Consistent with that, I had to select 2003 R2 in the OS selection on SBUU, but it installed fine regardless.  I did go back and download the entire OpenManage 6.3.0, which includes SBUU and Server Administrator, so that it would install SA on my box.  Worked fine.  Makes me wonder if 6.5.0 would have worked just as well.  Unfortunately, the download is corrupt on dell.com (try it--neither piece of the ISO matches the cksum and the merged pieces are not a valid ISO.)

And I was SO GLAD you brought nliteos to my memory, Flash.  What an incredible tool!  It's surprising that in the huge number of slipstream / ISO creation articles I read, NONE of them mentioned nliteos.  Definitely the way to go.  Would have saved me hours of work.

Thanks guys!
