Updating Vulnerable JRE within OMSA - Run Into Issues - Linux

Hello,

I've been having a nightmare trying to update a vulnerable version of JRE located ONLY within OMSA 6.5. After updating to 7.1, of which has a vulnerable version of JRE too, it has also flagged our PERC Firmware as out of date. Updating the PERC FW isn't really a feasible option for me as it is a production server and a reboot isn't doable.

Would someone be able to guide me in how to reinstall OMSA 6.5 from the dell repo and update just the vulnerable JRE within OMSA  to at least 1.6.0_41?

I am running CentOS6.

I contacted dell prosupport via phone and was told that JRE is Oracle's, so Dell cannot advise me on patching it, even though the version included with OMSA is a vulnerable version.

Cheers

Dan

I have since installed OMSA 6.5 from the dell repo, was as simple as specifying the version instead of latest in the bootstrap.cgi download. Now i just need to patch the vulnerable JRE.

Any suggestions?
