iDRAC 6 not sending test emails for alerts

I am trying to test email alerts for iDRAC 6 express, Firmware 2.85 (Build 04). When sending the test email, I am receiving a error. On the "gettracelog" output, I see this:

sendTestEmail() - send test email failed, return code:19200 error: No such file or directory

Could not find any documentation on this 19200 code. I have already:

  • Configured the SMTP server to open relay (tested with telnet and works)
  • SMTP and iDRAC ar on the same subnet
  • On Networking under iDRAC settings, Common settings, I have configured hostname and domain (in fact tried with several combinations, ith or without this and the error is the same).

Anyone have any idea on what this might be?

Thanks,

Marcelo Soares

Hi,

Is the DNS IP configured for the ipv4? Does the domain name match the name of active directory?

I have now exactly the same problem.

Record: 232
Date/Time: 2020/06/17 13:19:23
Source: pm[625]
Description: sendTestEmail() - send test email failed, return code:19200 error: No such file or directory

It worked fine so far. I have a own mailserver on the same subnet 192.168.1.5 no credentials needed. My Idrac is 192.168.1.10.

Some suggestions or solution about this problem?

Hi,

"It worked fine so far." - what changes were done?

I don't know exactly if authentication is necessary. Could you please try with auth activated on the mail server?

Stefan

I didn´t change anything on purpose, so I don´t know what is the problem.

I tried it with a google smpt (because of auth.), so I received that message:

Record: 320
Date/Time: 2020/06/17 15:37:09
Source: pm[625]
Description: sendTestEmail() - send test email failed, return code:17408 error: No such file or directory

I logged the mailserver and learned, that there is no SMTP request from the IDRAC (I assume that there must be a request from 192.168.1.10 (our IDRAC6) )

So I guess the IDRAC6 is not able to access the mailserver.

Hey,

I found one interesting post in the forum, please take a look:

Maybe this solves it for you too.

Best regards,

Stefan
