idrac hwinventory lags behind
Hello,
I am seeing idrac hwinventory lag behind after an add-in device firmware update, reboot and CSIOR.
This has been reproduced on dozens of servers.
Sequence of events:
- Add-in network card firmware is updated
- server is rebooted.
- CSIOR runs.
- Once booted, "racadm hwinventory" is run but it does not reflect the new firmware details. The idrac has sat hours in some instances after a reboot without hwinventory being updated.
- A racreset fixes the issue after the reboot BUT is there a way to force the idrac to sync it's hwinventory with the latest CSIOR? I would rather not add yet another racreset and 3-5 mins to deployments.
Server Details:
PowerEdge R630
bios 2.12.1
idrac 2.81.81.81

Hello,
I had planned on testing this myself in our lab, but it looks like my connection to the lab resources may be having issues. That being said, I'd expect the iDRAC to reflect the update upon the initial reboot (as opposed to requiring one for the install, then an additional one to reflect it in the iDRAC). There are no commands I'm aware of to manually resync the CSIOR collection with the racadm hwinventory collection, though. We do have some a few engineers that post here from time to time, so you may get a response from one of them, but you may well be best served creating a case for this issue, so that it can be looked at in better detail.
