PowerEdge T310

Hi: Our server PowerEdge T310, Serv Tag: 2Z2K3L1 HAS A RAID 1 Onboard Controller. Drive 1 failed and I had to swap it. Does anyone know if the RAID1 will auto rebuild on the second drive? Do I have to tell the RAID 1 to do it? How can I check to see if the second drive has been rebuilt?

Thanks,

Pete

Hello Pete, Thanks for the post . Can you confirm if  we are talking about PERC S100 controller ?

In case, if the Adapter is PERC S100 then Raid 1 will not auto rebuid.

It is recommended to have a Global Hot Spare disk in such confirguration.

Thanks,
Sahil

Yes, it is PERC S100. I got into the RAID1 Configuration and when I try to Initialize the drive for PERC S100, it says that the device is already in use by another virtual drive.

Now I need a full backup because the drive 0 is already degrated. I am desperate for a solution.

Please help.
