idrac7 1.51.51 and LC2 1.3.0 WSMAN changes - ConnectRFSISOImage method broken
Hello,
I have recently upgraded the iDRAC7 firmware of an R620 to 1.51.51 and LC2 to 1.3.0 and seems like the RFS (remote file share) "ConnectRFSISOImage" WSMAN command no longer works. All the related methods: ie. disconnect, check if an image is connected still work and also I can use RACADM to connect the same IMG image file without any problems - see below for both RACADM and WSMAN output (the latter consistently says "Cannot connect to ISO using RFS"). Did anything change in the OS Deployment WSMAN Profile regarding RFS methods with the new firmware?
RACADM output (works just fine):
=============================
[root@lab-prov1~]# racadm -r 192.168.100.50 -u root -p calvin remoteimage -c -u root -p test123 -l "192.168.250.53:/nfs/test.img"
Security Alert: Certificate is invalid - self signed certificate
Continuing execution. Use -S option for racadm to stop execution on certificate-related errors.
Remote Image is now Configured
WSMAN output:
===================
[root@lab-prov1 ~]# wsman invoke -a ConnectRFSISOImage http://schemas.dell.com/wbem/wscim/1/cim-schema/2/root/dcim/DCIM_OSDeploymentService?CreationClassName=DCIM_OSDeploymentService,Name=DCIM:OSDeploymentService,SystemCreationClassName=DCIM_ComputerSystem,SystemName=DCIM:ComputerSystem -h 192.168.100.50 -V -v -c dummy.cert -P 443 -u root -p calvin -k IPAddress=192.168.250.53 -k ShareName="/nfs" -k ShareType=0 -k ImageName="test.img" -j utf-8 -y basic

Ovidiu,
As we have been told, the update will occur in March, mostly due to the Java issues you have experienced.

Hi Geoff,
I can indeed confirm that the issue is not present in idrac7 firmware 1.46.45, however the reason for the upgrade was the newer java release 7u51 which breaks the iDRAC's virtual console feature. The iDRAC firmware version 1.51.51 brought a fix onto the table (without having to resort to using IE or java exception lists, etc).
So then another iDRAC firmware upgrade is scheduled for March 2014?
Thank you,
Ovidiu

Ovidiu,
I would try to backflash the iDRAC7 firmware back to version 1.46.45 and check to see if the functionality still works on that firmware. If so, then hold off updating your iDRAC7 until the next update comes out in March 2014.
Here is the link for the download: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/poweredge-r620?driverId=JYX4C&fileId=3334005292&osCode=WS8R2
