Dell venue 11 black screen

If it's the pro or not im not sure but I've had this problem before and I can't remember how I fixed it. The screen on my tablet looks like its off but the light on the over side of the screen that tells you the tablet is on, is on and so is the caps lock light on the keyboard when you press the button. The volume down button+power hasnt been working and from what I remember I did something with the function key or control button and the s or d key but I really can't find anything that suggests that.
