mrcmorg,

The 4amber flash led represents a memory failure. The motherboard will need to replaced. Contact Dell Support at 1-800-624-9896 for setting up to have the motherboard replaced due to memory failure.

The Venue 11 Pro (7130 / 7139) supports 4GB or 8GB LPDDR3 / DDR3L (1600 MHz) integrated memory that is embedded on the system board. In the event of memory failure, it will require system board replacement.

Question, I acquired the DOA 7130 (i5 vPro 8gb ram, 256g ssd) used. I'm assuming it is outside any standard warranty, so unless Dell has an exception policy I'm SOL

Is a mobo replacement for memory failure covered by any exception warranty policy?

Don't bother.  After tons of reading on this forum I bet you won't have much luck after you do repairs anyway.  You'll be lucky to make it another year and have it *** out again.  I have a DV11P 7140 as well.  Won't charge, won't power on...it's dead as a doornail.  No warranty to speak of.  My best bet is a new mobo on ebay, but I'm thinking it's not worth it.  $500+ down the drain on that tablet.  best fix....DON'T BUY A DELL.
