HBO Go App on Venue 8 Android not working
Can access account but not play any actual full content or even previews. It seems to be a compatibility issue with the HBO player and the tablet. Anyone have any ideas on why?

I don't know the exact cause for the problem you are experiencing, but DirecTV's GenieGo app has the same problem. The application installs fine, but goes to a blank screen upon launching before you can actually view anything on the device.
Someone suggested compatibility issues with the Intel processor?

Can we please get an answer on this? Is a Venue 8 HBO Go fix coming, or shall I return mine?

I am having the same problem. Dell Venue 8 running Android 4.3. HBO Go gets stuck on buffering. No other apps have this problem, nor do any other devices (other devices are iOS).

No idea on why you haven't gotten yours. Perhaps they have been busy pushing out their second generation venue tabs. There's a pretty active community over at xda. Just search for 2013 dell venue. They even have root so you could go that route if you are comfortable.

Thanks for the info. How did you update to 4.4.2? When I go to settings > about tablet > system updates it says I am up to date. Android 4.3 and Venue 8 3830

Also FWIW I asked Dell about how to update and I got a generic answer that devices get it at different times, but I'm not sure if that just means a particular device in general (IE Samsung Galaxy may get it before Dell Venue) or that some devices of the same type get it before others (IE your Dell Venue may get it before mine). The latter of which doesn't make sense to me.
I also just purchased my Dell Venue last week so if the latter is true maybe it depends on how long you have had it activated? Grasping at straws here.

OK, so my kernel version is 3.4.43 and my Android version is 4.3. Can I expect an update to 4.4.2 any time soon? (Venue 8).
