New Keyboard Return Key in text messages

Could someone help please please please.

I downloaded the latest 2.2, and the one thing I cant seem to find is the return (enter) key when writing text messages.  It seems to been replaced by a pointless smilie key!  Ironically unless you want to put a happy face it requires the same number of key presses to put in a different one!

So can someone let me know how to enter a new line
